Seize your opportunity for a remote side gig
Nearly half of Americans supplement their income with a second job. But these days, as people stay home to help stop the spread of COVID-19, many commonly held side gigs – driving a rideshare, tending bar, walking local dogs – are off the table. Not to worry: There are still ways to line your pockets that don’t involve leaving the house.Â
Not only is technology making lockdown more bearable for us personally (streaming services, video calls with friends and family, online grocery ordering) – the tools we’re using to stay connected can also be helpful professionally, whether you’re looking to add to your main income or find a viable gig to do full (or fullish) time.
Think about the skills or interests you already have that could translate into additional take-home pay. If you’ve got tech smarts, you could consider building an app that generates revenue. Fluent in another language or great at standardized tests? Try tutoring via teleconference. And, if you’re crafty, now could be the time to start selling your wares. Feel free to invest as much (or as little) time as you’d like; the beauty of a lot of these jobs is that you call the shots.
We’ve put together a list of seven easy (and legit) ways to make money without leaving your house. Check them out below.
